Description
The Loup Aien Lake Tourism Development Project is a nature-based tourism initiative located in Sikhottabong District, Vientiane Capital, across three villages—Nong Khi Lek, Nong Da, and Tad Thong. Developed by Keochaleun Road, Irrigation and Housing Infrastructure Construction Co., Ltd., the USD 50 million project seeks to preserve and enhance a natural wetland ecosystem while promoting eco-friendly leisure and hospitality services. Connected Consultant Sole Co., Ltd. conducted the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA), which assessed the project’s interaction with the lake’s flood retention function, biodiversity, water quality, and recreational value. The ESIA included extensive stakeholder consultations and led to design modifications to minimize environmental degradation. The project is part of a long-term vision for smart, sustainable tourism that supports both environmental conservation and economic development.
