Nam Beng Hydropower Project (NB)

The Nam Beng Hydropower Project, located in Oudomxay Province, is a privately financed run-of-river hydropower facility developed by Nam Beng Power Company Co., Ltd. The project supports Lao PDR’s national strategy to leverage its abundant hydropower resources for energy export. As part of its dam safety planning and operational readiness, Connected Consultant Sole Co., Ltd. was subcontracted by TA DAM Energy Consulting Co., Ltd. to prepare the Emergency Action Plan (EAP). This included hazard identification, risk assessments, emergency scenarios, and communication and response mechanisms designed to safeguard downstream communities and infrastructure. The work helped enhance the project’s preparedness for potential dam-related emergencies and aligned it with both national safety requirements and international best practices.
