Silver and Gold Mining and Processing Project

The Silver and Gold Mining Project in Xaysomboun Province is a large-scale exploration and extraction initiative led by Lao-China Base Mining Company Limited. Covering a concession area of approximately 47.84 square kilometers, the project targets the extraction of gold, silver, and antimony ores in Thathom District. Connected Consultant Sole Co., Ltd. conducted the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA), which analyzed a broad range of impacts, including deforestation, sedimentation of waterways, dust and emissions, and worker health and safety. The ESIA also incorporated extensive baseline data collection and public consultations with nearby communities and local authorities. Cumulative impacts from nearby mining activities were considered, and a comprehensive set of mitigation measures was developed to ensure the long-term sustainability and community acceptability of the project.
