Gold Mining and Processing Project

The Gold Mining and Processing Project in Namxouan Village, Phouvong District, Attapeu Province, is a private-sector initiative developed by Lao Vanleuay Co., Ltd., with Vietnamese financial backing. The project focuses on the extraction and processing of gold ore within a designated concession area. Connected Consultant Sole Co., Ltd. was engaged to carry out the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) and to prepare an Environmental and Social Management Plan (ESMP). The assessments evaluated potential impacts on soil, water, air quality, and biodiversity, as well as land use and labor-related issues. Special attention was paid to ensuring that local communities were informed, consulted, and compensated if adversely affected. The ESIA and ESMP supported the project’s regulatory approval process and laid the foundation for responsible mining practices aligned with Lao law and international good practice.
