Iron Mining and Processing Project

The Phoung Lao Iron Mining and Processing Project in Meung District, Bokeo Province, is a privately financed initiative by Terzan Mining Co., Ltd. The project, situated in a remote and mountainous area approximately 110 kilometers north of the provincial capital, covers a 57 km² concession with a feasibility study area of 1,332 hectares. Connected Consultant Sole Co., Ltd. was engaged to prepare both the Feasibility Study and the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA). These studies evaluated the technical, economic, and environmental viability of iron ore extraction and processing. The ESIA addressed impacts on biodiversity, water quality, cultural heritage, and community health. Stakeholder engagement with Phoung Lao Village authorities and local residents was a central part of the process. The project is expected to generate local employment, improve infrastructure, and demonstrate best practices in responsible mineral resource development.
