Nam Houng 1 Hydropower Project (NH1)

The Nam Houng 1 Hydropower Project is a small-scale 15 MW project situated approximately 22 kilometers from Xayaboury City in Xayaboury Province. It features a concrete gravity dam equipped with radial gates on the Nam Houng River, a tributary of the Mekong River. Developed under a Concession Agreement, the project is seeking investment for expansion and regional development. Connected Consultant Sole Co., Ltd. was subcontracted by TA DAM Energy Consulting Co., Ltd. to prepare the Dam Break Analysis and Emergency Action Plan (EAP). The firm conducted drone-based lidar mapping, consulted with the operations and maintenance teams, and engaged local authorities and communities to ensure that the project’s dam safety measures were robust and aligned with national emergency planning requirements.
