Nam Mang 3 Hydropower Project

The Nam Mang 3 Hydropower Project, located in Vientiane Province, is a medium-scale hydro facility designed to support both electricity generation and irrigation for rural development. Originally built to manage water resources in the Nam Mang River Basin, it remains an important asset in Lao PDR’s renewable energy and agricultural infrastructure. Connected Consultant Sole Co., Ltd., in cooperation with TA DAM and under the supervision of Stantec New Zealand, was contracted to review and update the existing Emergency Action Plan (EAP). The assignment included updating dam break risk scenarios, revising emergency protocols, and delivering training sessions and emergency simulation drills to dam operators and relevant authorities. The work helped enhance the dam’s emergency response capacity and ensured compliance with Lao and international safety standards.
