Description
The NongBua Smart City Project, developed by Hongkong Lotus Trading Co., Ltd., is an urban innovation zone in Vientiane Capital’s Sisattanak and Hadxayfong Districts. Spanning 29 hectares, the project aims to build a modern urban hub integrating digital infrastructure, eco-tourism, renewable energy, and residential zones. Connected Consultant Sole Co., Ltd. conducted the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA), which focused on water systems, drainage, solid waste, smart energy, and community interaction with the built environment. The site, including a semi-natural reservoir and low-lying wetlands, required hydrological assessments and buffer zone planning. The ESIA also included stakeholder consultations and planning integration with existing municipal infrastructure. Once operational, the smart city will serve as a pilot for future urban innovation in Lao PDR.
