Thanaleng Dry Port and Vientiane Logistics Park Project

The Thanaleng Dry Port and Vientiane Logistics Park is one of Lao PDR’s most strategic infrastructure initiatives, aiming to transform the country into a land-linked hub for regional trade and logistics. Located in Vientiane Capital near the border with Thailand and the Laos-China Railway terminal, the project includes customs zones, container yards, and multimodal transport links. Connected Consultant Sole Co., Ltd. conducted an Environmental and Social Upstream Risk Study during the project’s initial planning stages. This early-phase assessment helped identify baseline conditions, social sensitivities, and environmental risks—such as noise, traffic, and water use—that could affect local communities and ecosystems. The study provided valuable input for subsequent design and permitting processes and helped align the project with international financing standards, including the IFC Performance Standards and World Bank ESF.
